2013 looks more like a scooter year for the Indian two wheeler market. Bajaj is already working to bring back its glorious days of scooter with something new in the bag. Vespa has already revealed its plans to reveal its 125cc scooter in Indian market. Honda has already revealed the revised version of their best sellers Aviator, Activa and Dio scooters with a fresh new 109cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine. All of this has created much awaited stir in the scooter market and every manufacturer is jumping in to cash the market boom and establish themselves ahead of the others.
Yamaha has not missed much of the game, as it recently launched its Ray, 113cc automatic transmission scooter. Yamaha Ray is mainly aimed for the girls but here comes another news that Yamaha is now on the verge of revealing another larger, macho automatic scooter in an attempt to keep its bell ringing in the scooter market.
Being a tender in the market Yamaha is keeping itself confined about the subject but we are expecting to see some contemporary, masculine and sharp styling on the upcoming scooter. The new scooter will mainly aim at male buyers. In contrast with the image of Yamaha we expect the scooter to be high performer with efficient handling and incredible styling. The upcoming model is expected to feature front telescopic suspension, and features comparable to the scooter currently at sale in Indian market. The scoter will hire a four stroke, single cylinder air cooled 125cc engine that will be offering electric starter and automatic transmission. We are expecting more power delivery than Ray.
Currently Indian scooter market lies blank with no manufacturer to capture the large chunk of the pie. But with the growing number of the customers looking forward towards the powerful and efficient automatic scooters, it is the segment that Yamaha can dominate.
Yamaha is planning to reveal its scooter by the mid of this year.
