YZF R15 v2.0, the flagship bike of Yamaha India will be exported to the Australian market. The bike has been redesigned to suit the Australian market and is ready to be launched there. The bike is powered by a 149.8cc liquid cooled engine and has a top speed of about 120 kmph. The Yamaha has revamped this bike in such a manner that it has come close to its big brother R1. The engine is the heart of the bike and its racing character is not just restricted to its looks. The under the new redesigned body work, 2013 Yamaha has got a single cylinder 150cc four stroke engine that is capable of delivering maximum power of about 17 bhp at 8,500 rpm and the peak torque of about 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
The bike also contains tweaked ECU that improves torque delivery at low and mid-range, making this motorcycle a better ride. The DiASil cylinder and new forged piston offers racing performance and low weight at the same time better heat management, lesser friction and wear resistance. With the upgraded ECU, the bike now offers better performance with lower emissions.
The new Yamaha YZF-R15 is equipped with wider tires and new rims, revised gear shock and updated cast aluminum swingarm, twin seats and R series lights. The silencer has been loaded and brakes now comes with 220 mm rotors, while the delta box frame provides better handling. The bike is priced at 3,999 AUD (about Rs. 2.25 lakhs).
