The workers are demanding for an increase in the wages and the demand and negotiations are going on for quite a long time. But the last round of the talks between labor group and Hero management finished without any result and is likely to effect the production of the company. The representatives of the HMCWU (Hero MotoCorp Worker’s Union) had concluded that till now they have been presenting their demand in the constitutional manner in the front of the management but from tomorrow, it will start taking tougher measures like slowing down production lines.
One of the HMCWU member told that the management is refusing the demands and by far our protest and demands were put forward in a peaceful manner but from now we will be considering about slowing down the work.
On contrary company representative said that with the several rounds of talks with the union they tried to come up with a sustainable settlement and company will continue to engage worker in a fruitful talks to bring up a favorable solution.
Demand for the increase in the wages emerged after Honda increased the wages of the workers by 50 percent at its Manesar facility, after the round of protests for wage increment. A member of HMCWU said that at Gurgaon facility hero manufacturers about 6,000 to 7,000 units, which is more than what Honda produces at its manufacturing unit. So, Workers at the Hero plant has equal rights to receive the same treatment.
