Piaggio now became very serious about the Indian two-wheeler market. Having a successful Vespa LX125 on one hand it is planning to launch its elder sibling S150 and a new one Typhoon 125 in the near future on the other hand. The scooter manufacturer also launched a new version of Vespa LX 125 with disc brakes and some sportier tweaks. It is eyeing the target of 1 lakh market share with this upgraded product.
Typhoon 150 is the product targeted towards those who want the comfort of a bike without facing the hassle of gears. This dreaded hunk swungs a 150cc engine under its sporty body with longer shocks which wobbles out a power of 11.8 PS with 11.4 Nm of maximum torque. It will find many buyers in India because tarmac over here is not so smooth which plays a big drawback for scooter market.
Vespa S150 is more or less similar to LX125. The bold charmer sports a 150cc engine which yields a power of 12 PS. It will be the fastest scooter of India as it can attain a top whack of 100 km/h. Smart features like semi-digital speedometer, fuel injection, disc brakes and telescopic front shocks will be seen on it.
Pricing and launch dates are not yet revealed but we expect it to happen soon as the Italian bike maker seems very much gleamed to cash in on the rising two-wheeler craze.
