The beginning of New Year brought smile on many faces at TVS and Suzuki. TVS and Suzuki both of the two wheeler manufacturers has experienced a positive growth chart, both of them experienced increase in sales by 30% and 40% respectively in the month of January.
TVS could sell 1,65,152 units in the first month of the year against 1,27,288 units in January of previous year. The total sales for TVS from April 2010 to January of this year is 16,78048 units. When we compare the January 2011 to January 2010, the New Year brought 30% more sales. The cumulative sales figure marked an increase by 33% when compared to last year, 2010. Rising sales figures is an indication of market acceptance for TVS motorcycles.
Suzuki also showed positive growth pattern with rise in sales. The sales figure for Suzuki rose by 40% in January 2011, in comparison to same month in the year 2010. Sales numbers in actual are not much impressive but is an indication for a better future for Suzuki. In January 2011 Suzuki could manage to sell 28,598 units against 20,448 units earlier year.
The above sales figures may not be huge but must have surly brought a reason to smile for both the companies. Recently both the companies have brought new models namely TVS brought upscale Apache RTR 180 and Suzuki brought Slingshot commuter bike. both of the companies should work hard to get a better hold on a market that made up variety of customers, it’s a wiser discussion to have a key model in every segment.
