Just a technological issue held up Moretti from getting an eventual 2nd pole position in a row in the Italian Championship (CIV), 125 GP segment. He will be starting from the 1st row on the grid – 2nd spot in the race scheduled for tomorrow Imola’s Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari at 2:50 PM. Moretti is ready to keep the leadership in the standings and to fight for the victory and was the fastest rider in qualifying 1. He surely would have had enhanced today if a technological issue forced him to get back to the pit-box. It is been an unlucky day for Sarath Kumar, a first timer on Imola’s tough track, who suffered a crash in both today’s qualifying sessions and free practice, from which he escaped uninjured. Because of these unfortunate shows, Mr. Sarath nearly didn’t have time to work with technicians on his bike setup and will be starting tomorrow’s race from the 7th row – 20th spot – thanks to his best lap-time of 2’10”797.
Imola – 125 GP-Moto3 Italian Championship – Qualifying session:
1) Mantovani (Aprilia)
2) Moretti (Mahindra)
3) Dalla Porta (Aprilia)
4) Mazzola (Aprilia)
5) Calia (Honda)……….
20) Kumar (Mahindra)
Riccardo Moretti said that this morning he was able to set a good lap time and later in the afternoon was ready to go faster than that, but sadly a technological issue didn’t allow him to finish this crucial session for the beginning grid of tomorrow’s race. He will be trying and get a good start and to fight for the win.
Sarath Kumar stated that it isn’t a simple condition now, after 2 crashes in the same day. He was trying to enhance his lap-times but ended up in the gravel during qualifying 2. Sarath also tried to break but because of the high winds blowing on the track he just lost the front. It’s a pity because he was able to do only 2 laps, but thought that his race pace will be OK for the race.
