The MotoGP family heads to Japan along with the Ducati Team that’s scheduled to be held on October 2, 2011, this Sunday. To recap on events, the Motegi GP of Japan was postponed from an earlier date to October due to the island nation wrecked by tsunami and earthquake in March 2011. The Twin Ring track at Motegi is a stop-and-proceed circuit with aplenty slow corners placed at intervals with straightaways that are medium in length. Ducati have won 4 times here and a podium finish once. Nine-time Champion Valentino Rossi has 6 podium finishes here at Motegi and that includes last year’s thriller with Jorge Lorenzo while teammate Nicky Hayden overrides the Motegi circuit being one of [...]

Ducati Marlboro’s Valentino Rossi finally admitted that he’s clueless and not finding any solution regarding transformation of Ducati’s luck in MotoGP as he again finished a low 10th at Aragon on Sunday. Ducati tried putting on aluminium frames for the bike instead of carbon fibre tested vigorously at Mugello for 3 days in hopes of getting some input regarding the bike’s recovery on time for the race at Aragon, Spain. The main idea behind the aluminium frames being tested was to make Rossi get a complete feel on the bike where he was uncomfortable with the front end handling and was desperate to sort that out. It now looks like the aluminium frame wasn’t good enough than carbon [...]

Valentino Rossi unhappy about insufficient time for testing bikes in winter

Article by Jim Tantry
Ducati’s Valentino Rossi has strongly criticised cutting down the testing time in winter for a given MotoGP season. Dorna Sports, rights holder for MotoGP, had reduced bike testing days to 8 during the testing in winter. Valentino Rossi voiced that this reduction in testing time hampered a manufacturer’s potential to effectively develop their bike for a season adding that factories need time to test number of things during a bike’s development. Rossi sarcastically says he thinks it’s incredible not having to do more tests as for him and Ducati it potentially increases recovery time by 10 folds. He said they needed to try various things, but said it wasn’t possible to do so and considers [...]

Article by Jim Tantry
Misano GP was quite a good race for 7-time former World Champion, Ducati Marlboro’s Valentino Rossi, taking a number of factors into consideration. Rossi did have slight changes made after the warm-up lap in the morning. With the changes made, Valentino Rossi had a superb start coming 5th at the end of lap 2 from a not-so-bad grid position at 11th from qualifying. Rossi was able to maintain fast and decent rhythm for most of the race of the total 28 laps of the Misano circuit and did enjoy some good racing moments with fellow Italians Simoncelli, Dovizioso and American Ben Spies of Yamaha Factory Racing. It was Rossi’s second home race after Mugello racing for his home crowd and the [...]
