Get a massive V-twin, add lots of chrome and put the number 10 on the back, what do you get? A Rooney Motorcycle. England International and Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney has designed a one-off Lauge Jensen motorcycle, that is to be auctioned for supporting the KidsAids foundation.
We have not known the footballing ace for his passion into motorcycles, but he signed agreements with Danish charity foundation, KidsAid to customize an exclusive motorcycle in association with Lauge Jensen, the only motorcycle manufacturer in Denmark. The motorcycle has been put on auction from May end, and the sum raised from the auction will go into aiding the unhealthy and underprivileged children of Denmark.
The motorcycle features a massive V-twin engine, with black paintjob and chrome finish. Inspired from the 26-year old football legend’s jersey, the motorcycle has the number ’10’ on its fuel tank. Rooney claims that the motorcycle is inspired from the famous overhead volley goal he scored last year, against archrival Manchester City.
“The bike we have designed is inspired by my scissor kick against Manchester City last season. The goal has been described as a score of high quality and technically outstanding and it was a target with great force and beauty. I hope people will agree with me when I say that the motorcycle has all these qualities and more,” says Wayne Rooney.
With 73 matches for the English national team, 4 championships, 2 League Cup titles and a Champions League victory for Manchester United, Rooney is the ideal personality to support the cause.
“We are obviously both incredibly proud and happy that Wayne Rooney has agreed to support the Kids AIDS work. With support from someone like Wayne Rooney and the many fans he has across the world, we hope that the auction will bring a nice sum. At the same time, the cooperation could help to focus on those children and young people who every day have the disease up close in the body,” says Foundation President KidsAid Soren Bach.
