After its 26 year old association with Honda came to an end, the Hero Group has hired Wolff Olins, a London-based design agency to make a new brand identity for Hero Motors. The Omnicom group manages Wolff Olins and it is expected that Hero Motors would have a new name, logo and also brand re-positioning. Hero Honda Motors’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Pawan Munjal said that the company was try to re-energize, create and renew its values whereas as far as their products are related, they would still be built with the same passion and values on which they were built earlier. There would also be a new creative partner on the anvil and as of now Percept/H, DraftFCB Ulka, Mudra, JWT as also Law & Kenneth have been shortlisted.
Of the aforementioned, DraftFCB Ulka, JWT and Percept/H have been handling various Hero Honda promotions from time to time and are roster agencies. The new re-branding exercise was supposed to be revealed to the public by the IPL 4 season however due to some intricacies involved, it would take a bit longer, to be precise, 3-4 months more.
