Bajaj Auto, the two-wheeler giants from India, is planning an investment to the tune of Rs.500 crore in enhancing their production capabilities in the Indian market. As per reports, this investment is aimed at advancing the design of the Company’s famed bike, the Bajaj Pulsar. In a statement made by the President of Finance, Bajaj Auto, Kevin D’sa, the company has plans of investing this amount financial year-end 2013, in lines with its plans for expansion.
In 2010, Bajaj Auto had spent Rs.150 crore for expanding their production capacity. The newly modelled Pulsar will be equipped with latest technology and will present the future outlook of all upcoming bikes from Bajaj Auto. It is expected that the bike will make its appearance on Indian roads by this year end or latest by January 2012. Rumours have been circulating that the new Bajaj Pulsar is being provided an upgraded 250cc engine and the pricing for the same is going to be around Rs.1.5 lakh. Bajaj Pulsar has ruled the Indian two-wheeler segment with its 150cc variant.
After having carved a niche in the 150cc segment of bikes in the Indian market, Bajaj Pulsar had gone for more powerful variants by launching its 180cc and 220cc bikes. All of these bikes proved successful in taking the Pulsar Brand to newer levels. Bajaj wishes to replicate a similar success story with this latest version of the Pulsar. The major changes that are expected to be incorporated into the latest version are greater comfort and reliability, improved power and striking looks. The company, having assimilated the latest digital twin-sparked ignition (the DTS-I) along with its ExhausTec technology, are confident of giving the performance of the new Pulsar the desired upgrading.
