After showing off some of its capabilities at the recently concluded Auto Expo in Delhi, the new Honda Dio has finally entered the two-wheeler market in India. The new 2012 Dio is an 110cc bike, with improved fuel efficient performance. The 110cc engine is capable of giving an output of 9bhp. The scooter has a large space for carrying luggage below the seat. It also has a viscous air filter and extended legroom compared to other two-wheelers in its segment. The scooter incorporates Honda’s Combi Brake System, which activates both the front and the rear brakes with just a press of a button.
The 2012 new Dio is expected to give a mileage of almost 55kmpl, which almost 15 percent more than the previous version of this scooter which made its entry nine years back.
The 2012 new Dio has been launched keeping ‘young India’ in mind. The design lines and riding comfort of this scooter will fit in perfectly with the lifestyle of the young people in this country and that is what Honda is looking to cash in on. The Honda Dio is also the first automatic scooter in India that comes with tubeless tyres. It also incorporates all the necessary safety measures within it. If you are wondering as to how much you will have to spend to acquire on of these then let me tell you that the initial price of this scooter has been kept at Rs.42,632.
Mr. M.K. Rattan, Vice President Sales, Marketing and Corporate Affairs of Honda India said that they are targeting young people with this scooter and that this scooter will offer unmatched riding comfort and fuel economy to its owners.
The 2012 Honda Dio will be available five color options – Sports Red, Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Sunbeam White, Leblon Violet Metallic and Candy Palm Green. The delivery of these scooters will begin by the end of this month.
