Bajaj Auto, the leading bike manufacturer in India has, announced the second price hike in a row for its KTM Duke 200. The company has raised the price from Rs.1.17 lakh to 1.29 lakh, earlier the price was increased by Rs.3500. The price has been raised by 5% which is may be due to the falling price of rupee in the international market. It is the first bike from the Austrian manufacturer KTM in the country and Bajaj is accountable for all of its sales, service and spare needs. Even after the price hike, the bike still offers reasonable price as compared to the contenders. It is about Rs.30k cheaper than its challenger Honda CBR 250. However, the closest competition can come from the same home as Bajaj Pulsar 200NS which is quite cheaper than both Duke and CBR.
The main reason behind the competitive price of the Pulsar 200NS is because it is built completely in the country without any import. But Duke is imported as CKD unit and is assembled at Bajaj’s Chakan plant.
