Introduction
One of the most successful motorcycle manufacturers in India apart from Hero Honda is Bajaj. They are in the process of bringing Kawasaki models to India. The exact names of the bikes making it to the Indian market is still in question, but for the moment, we can see Kawasaki Z750R coming!
Bajaj’s previous innovations in 200 cc bikes like Avenger 220, Pulsar 220 and Ninja 250R spoke about good success. All these three models account for sales of 5000 units per month.
Kawasaki Z750 had all the beast-like features one would have desired to see in a bike in this segment. The green ‘Hulk-like’ body painting coupled with strong character and sharp features are very impressive in the Kawasaki machines. Kawasaki Z750 had middle weight chassis and 3/4 litre in-line-4 engine.
One of the most popular models of Kawasaki to make it to the Indian shores is the Kawasaki Z750R. I would rather say shores than roads as I really want to see them first! This bike has had its success in Europe. The looks are stunningly masculine, and the overall finish makes me envious by just the look of it. The Kawasaki Z750R in India is expected to come here by the middle of 2011.
The reason for Kawasaki Z750R to enter the market could be the drop in sales of the Kawasaki Z750 models. So, this really did create the need to invent something spectacular, which can be seen in the Kawasaki Z750R and could be worth the money paid for its detailed upgrades and design. It makes the beast look more aggressive and aerodynamically looks like an improved machine.
The same efficient and reliable engine is used on the Kawasaki Z750R in India. It is a liquid cooled, DOHC, 16 valve, 748 cc power unit. The bike produces an impressive
106 bhp at 10,500 rpm. Maximum torque is 78.5 Nm at 8300 rpm. Given that the features are similar to the Z750s, it is still considered to be an improved upgrade.
Braking
Another change one would see is the improvement in braking. Intense four-piston radial mount brakes are part of the Kawasaki Z750R along with huge 300 mm rotors. The bike also has ABS option. The rotors are thicker from 4.5 mm previously to 6 mm. With a high quality braking mechanism, this naked bike would have awesome braking powers setting new heights in technology and is expected to be a big success. High class engineering is further reflected by the appearance of steel braids along the brake lines.
Suspension
The Kawasaki Z750R in India features the adjustable front suspension. It has a liquid-cooled engine. At high speeds, the engine gets heated, so a bottom-link unitank with a reservoir is used to provide optimal cooling effect. The bike comprises of DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) valvetrain with four valves per cylinder. The bike has wet sump lubrication system. Transmission is manual six speed gearbox. Rear has monoshock suspensions for improved riding and fatter tyres for safety concerns.
Comfort and handling is further enhanced by the addition of new forks taken directly from the Z1000 model. The bike also has lighter swingarm made up of aluminium. All these new features are focussed to get a better feel and improved sense of riding.
Furthermore, the Kawasaki Z750R in India has a power to weight ratio of 0.34 hp/kg. The bike needs 3.5 seconds to reach 0 to 100 km/hour mark. The bike attains a max speed of 220 km per hour.
Kawasaki Z750R in India has a fuel capacity of 18.5 litres.
The Kawasaki Z750R price in India is expected to be Rs. 8,00,000.

Conclusion
Kawasaki is tying up with Bajaj, and we hope to see more models hitting the Indian roads, especially after their long break from entering India and into the two wheeler segment. Overall, as far as styling, design and aggressiveness the bike shows us, I would expect it to be a big hit in the 250 cc category and in all sense surely has the potential to challenge the likes of Hondas and the Yamahas.
