Harley-Davidson revealed its most awaited 500cc bike in Milan, Italy Alongside, a 750cc bike is also been unveiled. Both the bikes uses new platform which is a ‘new’ one in the past 14 years.
Though, said bikes are introduced under the Project RUSHMORE, which was launched in August. But the America based bike maker said the new two wheelers are made to entice the young urban riders around the world.
Both the aforementioned new storks fall under “Dark Custom” category of the repertoire.
Named as Harley-Davidson “Street 750” and “Street 500” motorcycles, the newbies are built using urban environments with all-new liquid-cooled Revolution X™ powertrains, which is signified with original thumps and nimble agility like that of the other Harleys.
“These are the newest motorcycles to join our Dark Custom lineup, which helped make us the number-one selling brand to young adults in the U.S. for the past five years,” said Matt Levatich, President and Chief Operating Officer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “Both the Street 750 and Street 500 were designed with thousands of hours of input from young adults in cities around the world. This input guided both the attitude and capabilities of these motorcycles. They are proof that being customer-led continues to be a core driver of our product development process.”
Learning more about the Street 750 and Street 500, the duos seen featuring all new narrow and lean chassis built for featuring agility, with a super-low seat height, new suspension and broad handlebar sweep that provides confidence and maneuverability when managing tight turns and fast moves. Both signature Dark Custom motorcycles feature a premium, minimalist style that serves as a blank canvas for riders to customize.
However, there are no confirmed technical specifications of 500 and 750 to look upon (except the 494cc and 749cc of liquid-cooled V-twin engine being mated to a 6-speed transmission, driven by belt), but glazing at the thoughts of Harley, we are informed: the new bikes are developed for the urban temperament, with the “instant throttle response to escape city gridlock”, and refinements for “stop-and-go” traffic adversity.
“These new bikes are leaner, yet still have a mean streak – they’re the real deal, made of real steel.” said Mark-Hans Richer, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “They’re designed to handle the abuses of urban environments and provide authentic opportunities to customize.”
The Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Street 500 will be rolled out in dealerships of selected markets by early 2014. We guess the Street 750 and Street 500 will also make to India soon, because the latter one was seem to have been spied on our shores in abundance.
