Italy’s answer to the bikes from Korea and Japan is the new Ducati Monster 795. Ducati have finally realized that to make a mark in the Indian bike scene, they need to have a bike which would be priced competitively amongst its peers rather than flaunt an Italian flamboyance and be over priced for it.
The Ducati Monster 795 would be sold alongside the Ducati Monster 796 that Ducati currently have in their Indian portfolio. This bike would be priced lower than the 796, however the final pricing for the same hasn’t been revealed yet. This bikes would come into India as CBU, built in Ducati’s spanking new facility in Thailand via the CKD route. Triple parabola head lamp is the signature of any Ducati Monster bike and the same makes its debut in the 795. The head light flasher doubles up as a stopwatch also. Ducati’s signature dual spark Desmodue air cooled L-twin 803 cc engine makes its presence felt in this bike. This engine produces 87 Bhp of power along with 8 kgm of torque. A 6 speed gearbox is also part of the standard fare. Its bigger brother, the 796 has taller gear ratios and it remains to be seen if Ducati have geared the 795 just right for the Indian road conditions. As for the brakes, the Monster 795 comes with dual discs with ABS as an option. Considering the Indian road conditions, ABS is a must for any motorcycle. An estimate of the Ducati 795’s price would be around Rs 5.5 lakhs.
