Bookings have now been opened by Yamaha dealers for the Yamaha YZF-R15 150 cc bike. According to reports, the launch of the Yamaha YZF-R15 150 cc bike would be on September 6, but it is yet to be confirmed.
Previous pictures in May where reports suggested the launch would be sometime soon had indicated that R15’s rear assembly would be similar to the big Yamaha R1 bike, especially when looked from the rear along with the raised passenger seat.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 would likely have re-designed headlamps, split seats, LED tail lights, alloy wheels, a new ECU and a hugging mudguard for the rear wheel. Rumours further speculate that the new YZF-R15 would have the engine retuned delivering a max power of 20.7 bhp while earlier it was 16.7 bhp.

In February of this year, it was expected that a price drop of Rs. 10,000 would be done on the current price of the R15 by Yamaha Motors. Yamaha might have attained the desired percentage in localization and could pass on localization benefits when they launch the new YZF-R15 to its consumers at a competitive price. The new YZF-R15 would compete with the RTR 180, Karizma ZMR and Pulsar 220.
