With so many multinationals flooding the Indian biking industry with their premium 2 wheelers, BMW is nowhere behind in the race. BMW is an iconic brand from Germany who is passionate maker of 4 as also 2 wheelers. BMW the German auto giant is quiet an old man in the biking segment globally but with few models that has been launched in the domestic market BMW is expecting quiet a good response from Indian buyers. BMW until now has hosted six bikes in India. BMW although is expecting to sell fifty motorcycles by the end of 2011 in India. BMWs two wheeler subsidiary BMW Motorrad until now has launched bikes above 1000 cc. R1200R, R1200GS, K1300, K1600 GTL, S1000RR and HP2 are few models that are available in the domestic market for BMW aficionados.
Mr Sharad Kachalia, Managing Director, Navnit Motors commented “ already 23 bikes of this German auto maker has been sold in market and is expecting to bring the toll up to 50 bikes until the end of this year. BMW currently has 2 major network channels in Delhi and other in Mumbai.
BMW Super Sports bike are imported into India from its 2 wheeler arm BMW Motorrad by Navnit Motors and Deutsche Motorean. Almost all the models are getting good response but R1200 GS and S1000 RR are out of the box Bikes that are almost acquiring the premium super sports bike segment from Japanese giant Honda and Suzuki. There is a scoop that German Auto giant will even be launching bikes below 1000 cc. Bikes above 1000cc has been given a price tag of rupees 18 to 25 lakhs.
