The upcoming Goodwood Fest of Speed will feature iconic BMW bikes and racers like John Surtees and Leon Haslam will embark upon the popular Goodwood Hillclimb. Five BMW bikes will be entered in time trailed 1.16 mile hill climb throughout the estate of Goodwood House in Chichester in July.
Leon Haslam, the World Superbike BMW Motorrad racer will embark on the hill climb astride his BMW S1000RR bike that delivers above 200bhp of max power. He will also meet fans and sign autographs throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, John Surtees, who is the only four and two wheeler world champion, will also make a run on his Type 255 1939 Kompressor racebike. Surtees bought this bike in parts during the 1980s, which he painstakingly restored. He also loaned the only surviving example of his three time winning, world championship motorcycle to the museum of BMW Classic in Germany.
The event will also be graced by stunt star for BMW, Mattie Griffin for a second successive year, treating the audience to a fine display of bike handling, performing burnouts, stoppies and wheelies his way to the Goodwood hill.
He will perform in two shows per day astride his F 800 R that has will be showcased in paddock area, where he is to meet and greet visitors and fans. The Sr. road tester for Motorcycle News, Michael Neeves is also participating in this event astride his Superstock S 1000 RR MRO racer that was arranged by BMW Park Lane.
