Bajaj Auto will roll put a latest 100cc motorcycle for the mass market that it said will offer much-required “pleasure” in the section.
The auto giant proposes to roll out the much anticipated 100cc motorcycle by next year (January 2013).
President K Srinivas, Motorcyle Business, Bajaj Auto stated that it will be the most pricey 100cc motorcycle ever introduced and will be the most innovative by means of technology.
When questioned about preference for lower priced bikes among buyers in the section, he replied, “Our practice has been that purchasers in this section are value cognizant and not necessarily price conscious.”
Clients in the sector have had to compromise with “unexciting motorcycles and tedious traits” for the benefit of fuel consumption rate, for too long, stated Mr. Srinivas.
The two wheeler giant wishes to provide “thrilling bikes with electrifying characteristics” together with superior fuel consumption rate, he stated and added that clients have commenced moving in the direction of 125cc motorcycles as they presented a lot more traits.
But, the fresh bike will be a “mass product.”
“I have no hesitation regarding it,” Srinivas gagged when questioned whether the novel 100cc motocycle would displace Splendor from its base. Bajaj’s Discover has already surpassed Splendor by a small margin in the month of September, turning it the biggest selling brand, he stated.
While Discover registered sales of around 1.22 lakh vehicle units in the month, Splendor sold approximately 1.21 lakh vehicle units.
The company has witnessed enhancement in sale figures in the first few days of the festive period.
Mr. Srinivas, who was talking on the sidelines of the inauguration of Bajaj’s fourth dealership in the city, stated that sales augmented by 6 per cent in the period of ‘Navarathri’.
Bajaj Auto sold approximately 88,000 motorcycles during the last ‘Navarathri’.
