The BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle wing of the German automotive brand has decided to equip all its models with anti-lock breaking system from 2013. BMW has always been known for its safety and innovative ideas, which helpit make world class motorbikes. BMW has recently announced that its two-wheeler range will receive anti-lock braking system as a standard fitting. The ABS equipped bikes will make their way into the market from next year onwards. Pioneering the innovation in the two wheeler segment, BMW will become the only and the first manufacturer in the world to incorporate ABS on its entire range of the two-wheelers as the standard equipment.
The latest news is the part of the BMW’s innovative ‘Safety 360 Degree’ program which mainly focuses on the improving the safety technologies used in the motorcycles. The new approach from the German bike maker on the safety considerations mainly concentrates around the three key parameters that consist of
- Safety technology that is being used in the vehicle itself.
- Safety technology that is being derived from the equipment used by the drivers
- Safety considerations derived from the driver training
The idea of making ABS a standard equipment for all the bike came three years before the official announcement of the making ABS compulsory across all the bikes sold all over the Europe starting from the year 2016. Apart from the safety upgrades, the new BMW motorcycles from 2013 will also be getting some other serious updates like heated grips and it will also be featuring on board computer for the touring package on the F800R. It will also be hosting a whole new range of new colors for its new 2013 model range.
