Hero MotoCorp opens its production plant in Rajasthan

India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero has opened up its fourth motorcycle manufacturing plant in Rajasthan. The plant has been stationed at Neemrana and spreads over a total area of about 47 acres. Hero said that it will be employing another 1,000 workers and the new plant will increase its production capacity to 7,50,000 units annually. Hero has also decided to keep Rs. 550 crores aside for the investment. The Hero MotoCorp Rajasthan plant will also feature its global parts center. Latin America is sweeping in many bike makers of the world as one of the thronging markets for entry level segment. This same kind of situation is seen in Africa and many other Asian regions. Key segment has occupied much of the market space because of easy affordability. Bajaj reveals its future plan, Scooter not a priority

In the middle of the rumors about Bajaj’s re-entry in the scooter segment, MD of Bajaj 2-wheelers Mr. Rajiv Bajaj said that they are concentrating on export of the bikes rather than on scooter market. He further added that bringing in scooter will distract them from the current strategy. In an interview to the Economic Times he said that Bajaj currently have about 10 percent of the market share in the global market and it is planning for growth considering the profit. Bajaj is planning to export its bikes to Indonesian, Thailand, Malaysian and Vietnamese market.
