Harley Davidson to start production of Indian made entry level bikes in 2014

The Indian division of Harley Davidson, the globe’s oldest and most renowned American bike maker, has disclosed plans to establish a manufacturing plant that will fabricate entry level two wheelers directed at Indian motorcycle buffs.
The firm already boasts a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits assembly plant at Bawal in the state of Haryana, which started functioning last year (2011).
The firm’s Bawal-based facility is the second manufacturing facility outside US, with the other one being in the biggest Latin American nation, Brazil.
The Indian fabricated Harleys are likely to witness the US firm’s local stores by the next two years (2014).

Royal Enfield to Exhibit Cafe Racer Motorcycle at Long Beach Motorcycle Show 2012

Royal Enfield is all set to exhibit its Cafe Racer bike at the forthcoming Long Beach Motorcycle Show this year.
This Long Beach Motorcycle Show 2012 will start on December 7th and it will end on December 9th, 2012.
You all might recall that the motorcycle maker had presented a prototype edition of the Cafe Racer bike back at this Delhi Auto Expo that took place in the month of January.
Even though, no proposals of whether to truly create it into a production unit was disclosed by the company functionaries, it was very much interpreted that they might be unveiling one shortly.

KTM 390 to be launched by next month

Indian motorcycle buffs are thrilled with the introduction of KTM in the domestic market.
With the introduction of Duke 200, KTM’s foray in the domestic market with associate Bajaj stepped up the Indian motorcycle situation pretty speedily and at present the Austrian brand is all set with their novel offering for the domestic market, the Duke 390.
The new Duke 390 will be catered by a 373.2cc liquid cooled, one cylinder engine generating 43 Bhp of utmost power peaking at 9250 revolutions per minute and 35 Nm of torc at 7250 revolutions per minute transmitted via a 6 pace manual gear case.

IAF with Hero goes on soaring

Five Indian Air Force bikers have engraved their names in the Limca Book of World Records by carrying the challenge of passing ten Himalayan passes in just 51 hours on their Hero Impulse bikes.
The team consists of Goutam Dhar Gupta (Warrant officer), Vikram Singh Yadav (JWO), Sgt. Ravinder Singh Rawat, Sgt. Madan Mohan Reddyand Sgt. Tejinder Singh Kapoor. The IAF team not only managed to cross three passes but also broke the previous record of 20,493 feet by riding up to 20,540 feet. All the five riders were congratulated by Jyoti Narayan Burma Air Chief Marshall, air officer incharge administration, air headquarters, IAF in the presence of Senior VP Hero MotoCorp, Mr. Anil Dua.
