Fourth plant for Hero Honda could be either in Karnataka or Gujarat

Hero Honda who are on a revamp, are currently scouting for a location for their 4th plant in India and it would most likely be in the states of Gujarat or Karnataka. Within a few weeks, the company would be sending out mailers regarding the investment details that would go into this plant plus the location details. Anil Dua, the Marketing and Sales division Senior Vice President for Hero Honda, said that for the coming years, the company would definitely need a new facility. He however declined to comment on any further things such as the level of investment which would go into this 4th plant or even the production capacity of this unit. Hero Honda is currently undergoing a new brand strategy, part of which included changing its brand name. A while back, we had reported about Hero Honda asking its shareholders to approve its new name, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Well, the name was recently by shareholders during the company’s extraordinary general meeting. The meeting took place at the company’s third facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on June 17. In the meeting it was also mentioned that the company would not have above 16 directors, which excludes nominees of the Central Financial Institutions and State. Currently the board has 14 directors. The American arm of the Honda Motor Co. recently wrapped up their cruiser bikes launches for their 2011 line up with the introduction of three models, the Shadow Aero, the Stateline and the Sabre. Apart from that they also announced their first bike release for 2012, the Gold Wing. Here’s a first look at these bikes. The 2011 Stateline blends traditional style with modern elements with its sweeping lines and deep fenders that give it an overall contemporary vibe. The bike is priced at $11,799.
